Savoy Elegance Mk2

Had this stove in red enamel fitted for Xmas 2012 already the ceiling fire brick has dropped out, the fuel retainer bar (part number 50) has warped badly, the controls are poor with very little adjustment and the handle is a poor design. But my main problem is that after all being fine initially, yesterday so much smoke escaped and was so bad that the carbon monoxide detector and all my smoke detectors were set off, the whole house was thick with smoke and fumes. I burn smokless coal and dried logs. I can not use the stove and I am waiting for someone to come out and test the stove. The stove looks great in red and burns hot although very fast, but it's no good if I can't use it.

Stove expert replied: What an alarming experience, for a fuel retainer to warp in such a short space of time should be investigated further. What fuel is being used and how fast are you operating the stove?

I have a Burley Hollywell stove and my advice to you is to get a Burley instead. They are highly efficient and you will not experience any of the problems the reviewers here have spoken about. To release a stove on the market with the design problems that have been voiced here is reprehensible.
