The fire was installed 3 years ago, recently had it inspected and was found to have large crack in the back plate, also the throat plate had melted. It has been condemned, so we complained to Franco Belge which was a waste of time. We now have to buy a new stove. It will not be another FB. The inspector who is fully qualified said it was caused by the air wash which had not been connected to the external control knob, thus being stuck permanently fully open.

Stove expert replied: What a shame, a stove should be controllable so as to allow a gentle slumbering flame picture and if this is not achievable then this should be investigated to prevent over-drawing and the problems caused by this.
