Review of Franco Belge Savoy Classic stove

Right from installation when new it burned too fast and was taking in too much air. It seemed to be very inefficient and gave little heat. I have just discovered that air is going in underneath the top rim, where there seems to be a gap of about 5mm. Looking at the manual, the stove comes in sections to be bolted together and is not in one piece. Problem is solved by packing the gap with fire rope. Not sure if this is a design flaw or bad installation.
