Review of Franco Belge Montfort stove

Montfort Elegance MK2

This is a cracking little stove, now that it has been fitted correctly. (that is another story). I have one major issue though. Spare parts! It is very complicated trying to order these, as there appears to be two versions of the stove, which have different style flue baffles and fire bricks. The part numbers in my manual do not correspond with anything the ACR people or supplier have. Appart from that, I love it, though I am a bit wary of over heating it now, as I needed a new baffle due to over heating, I am paranoid of it glowing red, which is hard to stop, but this then makes the metal of the baffle break away gradually.

Stove expert replied: If you are finding the stove hard to control it copuld be that the flue draw is excessive and this can be corrected. Other causes are that the rope seal or glass gasket may need attention. Do not live with the problem but investigate and try to correct so that costly spares need not be required.
