Review of Franco Belge Monaco stove

Great fire - but

Simon Thirlby

Great fire that bangs out loads of heat. However like others have had problems with the baffle plate which I've just replaced for the second time in three years. Everything else I'm pretty pleased with. Agree it's not the cost but the problem associated with it. Have just put in the new plate and am not convinced this will stay in for long before dropping again. My problem seems to be that the two latches at the top don't seem long enough and thus as soon as its been through a few fires, it starts to warp and comes of the latches. Shame as its a great little fire

Stove expert replied: It may be worth looking into getting a plate made locally by a sheet metal worker who can make the latches slightly longer and the plate thicker and this may well solve the problem that you have experienced.
