Review of Franco Belge Camargue stove

Still going very strong

Davina Glading 11 years ago

Well for the 16th Winter we rely on our old faithful. The Franco Belge Camargue has been the heart of our drawing room since 1996.

Apart from some slight corrosion on the baffle plate it is as good as new. In the 16 years we have only had to replace one side brick, one back brick (both after being biffed by an over-eager husband with logs) and the door rope.

It is used daily for about 5 months of the year and has never let us down. The airwash works well, only with an occasional clean needed.

We do tend to use wood during the daytime and some coal in overnight to keep the heat going to re-stock in the morning. This routine works well for us.

Stove expert replied: Fantastic, must be a good stove, hardly any replacement parts in 16 years.
