Review of Dunsley Highlander 5 stove

top little stove

Decided to write a review as this website was extremely helpful in making my stove decision.\nThe stove looks and feels extremely well built, from the door catch, riddling mechanism and controls. certainly a lot sturdier than some of other models I played with in the stove showroom.\nOnly had it for around a month so I'm still learning best way to use it and haven't tried any other fuels than kiln dried logs and scrap wood (i.e pallets etc). Also I haven't tried to burn overnight.\n\nIt is extremely easy to light generally only taking 1 match, few sheets of paper and a bit of kindling. Once lit it throws out plenty of heat for my smallish front room (5x4m), getting it very warm in less than twenty minutes.\nThe air wash works great when the logs are blazing away (fully open),however it certainly flies through the logs when it burns like this. When its turned down the glass does soot up a little, but the logs last a lot longer a bit of ash on a cloth cleans it in about 30 seconds though. \nThe ash pan is massive and the riddling mechanism simple and effective, allowing any nails to drop through. \noverall I am extremely happy with my purchase and would certainly recommend the highlander 5 to anyone!\n\n\n

Stove expert replied: Watch that the nails do not damage the grate. Good review.
