Review of Dunsley Highlander 5 stove

Dunsley Highlander 5

Ifan 15 years ago

I have just installed a highlander 5 and I am very happy. Got it from fireplace products in a clearance sale and installed it myself. Therefore it was very good value for money under £450 + boiler. I have a Hunter herald 6KW in the other room and found the Dunsley outperforming the Hunter. Its better for keeping the fire over night. The only thing I found its difficult to get larger pieces of wood on the stove compared to the Hunter. up to 4.5inch diameter no problem any bigger any the Hunter takes over up to 6 inch and much longer pieces. The glass does get a little dirty but I think this is because my wood has only seasoned for 2.5/3 months. I do have a boiler to go with it but have not fitted it yet waiting for the oil to run out before doing the change.
