Review of Dovre 1800 stove

Very Disappointed so far with my Dovre 1800

John Walker 5 years ago

The Dovre 1800 is my first stove. I chose it because of the abilty to operate it as an open fire.

When operated with doors closed, the glass constantly soots up until you can no longer see whether the fire is lit or not!

My logs are moisture checked and are between 9-12% which should be ideal. I did have an anti-downdraught cowl fitted during the installation but I have had this removed to try any increase the draw - sadly this doesn't appear to have had any affect. The stove looks great while the glass remains clear - but sadly this does not last long and I have a major glass cleaning task every morning. I am really wondering if I have made the right choice with this stove. Do any other owners have similar issues?

Stove expert replied: Have you an air brick in th room? Do you leave the air sliders open all the time? What is your flue draw measurement? Section 4.3 in the manual is worth referring to, it is very descriptive and will insure you get the best from your stove when operating it.
