Review of Dovre 1800 stove

Dovre 1800

Perfect for an inglenook and offers an excellent compromise between a stove and an open fire. Open the doors and fold them back, and enjoy the open fire, whereas close the doors and close the vents and it operates like a traditional stove (with a few minor caveats).

We've had ours for 3 years and not had any problems at all. It heats a 6m x 4m room (old cottage, solid walls, no insulation) with no effort. We use coal and/or wood and it works equally well with either/both. Easy to light and control.

Aesthetically it is amongst the best. A great buy for those looking for the best of both worlds. Given our experience of Dovre, we are about to commit to installing a second Dovre (500 model) in our other fireplace.

Stove Expert: Nice feedback from customer, stove working well.
