Review of Country Kiln Aurora stove

Terrible Purchase!

John Potter 14 years ago

Yuk, Yuk, Yuk! Terrrible, wish we had listened to the guys at the shop. We just assumed they were talking rubbish when they tired to sell us a more expensive model but they were correct. Awful build quality and very little heat output even with kiln dried wood. Bad advice given as well - online retailer lead us to believe we didn't need to line our chimney and that it was an easy DIY job to fit it ourselves. We didn't really know the rules so we fitted it ourselves - big mistake when the building inspector came around to inspect our extension only to mention we needed a certificate. Now we can't get one as no one will touch it with a barge poll! Anyway, steer clear!\n\n

Stove expert replied: at least in England, in most local authorities, you can have a 'Competent Person' do the install (APHC, HETAS, NAPIT, etc installer), or you can do the installation under building control: an either or situation.
