Review of Churchill 6 stove
Nice looking stove with good heating performance
We got our Churchill 6 pedestal stove just before Xmas last year after a lot of searching for a good looking stove to sit on a plinth in our 24'x12' lounge with a black painted s/s twin walled flue straight up through the ceiling and loft (bungalow). We aren't disappointed. It's easy to light with half a firelighter and some kindling and then a couple of logs on top. It needs a refuel about once an hour. We've been using a mixture of bought logs and compressed sawdust briquettes. We've how got some kiln dried hardwood to try for next winter. It's easy to control and there is enough heat to warm the lounge, dining room, kitchen and hall. We do find that the glass needs a wipe over with a damp cloth most days as the curved front seems to reduce the effectiveness of the airwash but it really looks good when it's burning. Very little ash, the pan has to be emptied about once a week. We've not tried solid fuel yet
