Review of Charnwood C 5 stove
C5 nice stove "But"
We have had a C5 now for a month, it burns realy well, but burns away too quickly, cant keep it in all night. Done the paper test in the door and the rope looks fine, it seems to me that I cant close the air inlet enough, any idea,s ??
Thanks BrianStove expert replied: This stove is Defra Approved to meet current smoke controlled area requirements. Therefore the air control will always allow air to bleed through the stove and can't be closed off completely hence you are not able to get overnight burn. Do you notice a change in the rate of burn when you operate the air control, if it does not alter the rate of burn you may also have an over drawing flue that is sucking the air and heat out of the stove too quickly. This may need a check from the installer and if the draw is excessive a damper or stabilizer can help to solve this.

Thank you for your advice, unfortunately the supplier failed to tell us this when we bought the stove, my wife and I made it perfectly clear that we keep our stove in 24/7 during the winter months !!!
