    i love the look of this stove i bought the converter kit to convert to multi fuel, easy to fit yes it was. negatives the handle gets really hot, and dosent stay closed so there fore the coal
    burns away too quick due to air flow because when i go out i come home and the door is open, which also is a safety hazzard so i have to put a fire guard up every time i go out, door popped open, pne day asnd my room was full of smoke. not that practical to clean out ash unless you have a ash vacuun, as under neath the ash tray isnt smooth so you cannnot just scrape ash out due to ridges, to give a good clean you have to remove grid and fire bricks

    This is a lovely stove and very good value - it kind of contemporary but with the bulk of a proper stove, throws out lots of heat and the glass stays clean with seasoned wood. I looked everywhere
    for a review before buying but with no luck so took a chance, I am not dissapointed. Could not rate the burning overnight as we have not tried it.

    After purchasing this stove I then read the reviews on here and nearly cancelled my order !! really glad I didn't as its a great stove and the people who left bad reviews clearly don'' know
    much about stoves. I purchased the 4.7kw in sage green and it came on a pallet well wrapped and packed and in perfect condition direct from Carron. Easy to install and has been working great ever since produces a lot of heat for very little fuel. On tick over I very often have embers the next morning ready to start back up. Can be a little smokey when doors open but that's usual for a smaller stove. Glass stays clear if you always leave top vent open a little. Above all a great buy and great quality fuel efficient stove. Ignore the bad reviews can only imagine there from another stove manufacturer.

  • not pleased with the carron stove

    I have had 3 stoves they all seem to crack on top and the door handle keeps working loose, the ash pan has buckled and the fire bricks are crumbling. Carron have replaced the stoves but when
    I asked for replacement parts they told me to get a written report this stove was installed 31 September 2015 and these parts have a 2 year warranty.

    Stove expert replied: Warranties on stoves do not normally cover the parts which are deemed as consumable (eg bricks), being asked for a report seems a reasonable request when several are under discussion as in need of replacement after such a short time.

    This has been my third winter using this little stove.I love it. It burns well, responds quickly to adjustments of the lower air inlet, and looks pretty all year round.After two years the chimney
    sweep replaced the fire rope which surrounds the door, nothing else has required attention.

    Excellent little stove, stays in all night with smokeless fuel . Logs need re-fuelling every 1hr. It looks so pretty on my black slate hearth. Well made cast iron, it stays warm 2hrs after the
    fire is out. Yes the handle does get HOT so does the fire !

    I bought a woodburner about 4 years ago and I have tried it in 2 different rooms but it will not draw very well. I have had the chimney checked and tried a copex flue liner and it still won
    't draw I'm at a loss with this burner it's an expensive ornament.

    Wow! Just had it fitted. We have oil-fired central heating, and for the first time ever we have been able to close the rads down and let the Carron heat our 3000sq.ft. home. We were roasted,
    and can only be in the same room if we 'turn' it down. It looks beautiful, it roasts us beautifully and it lights easily. (and I'm a novice!) I obviously cannot comment on its durability yet but it all augers well for the future!

    After reading many comments on here about the Carron range I was unsure if the brand was for me but after a chat with my installer I decided to give it a go. I need not have worried as I have
    been using mine for many months now and I can't fault it. It lights easily with a good airwash. . . great window to watch it all as well.Heat produced is more than enough and refuelling is as much as I expected. I have now turned off all my downstairs radiators in favour of burning wood as I am fed up of high gas prices and I have never looked back. The build quality is excellent with no problems at all. I used to have a Dovre 500 but my Carron is much better. Buy with confidence.

  • My first experience with a woodburner

    Bought the carron (black) about a year ago and I would say that I am moderately happy with it. Plus points: Looks good, easy to light/use, relatively inexpensiveAirwash works okMinus points:
    Build quality a bit iffyHigh fuel consumptionrather wish I had spent more and bought a clearview Vision 500 though it's at least double the price!

    Stove expert replied: Is the high consumption due to the flue draw being in excess of the recommended draw stated by the manufacturer?

    Bought this stove 4 years ago and always saw it as a cheap and cheerful partner to the Morso I have in another room. Well, the Carron has been pretty faultless in all that time, whilst the Morso
    has been through a glass and burnt through a riddling grate. The Carron chucks out loads of heat and stays in all night with 'duck eggs' on it. Mine is in cream enamel but have not yet had a problem with cracking, but that's maybe because I've used a stove thermometer to run in the optimum burn zone - it will happily tick away all day on a mixture of anthracite and wood with restocking every two hours or so. Main drawbacks are the riddling system which is a bit numb, and the bottom hinge pin on door, which works its way loose every now and then and needs tapping back with a rubber mallet. The handle does get too hot, but not if you use the tool provided. Overall, this is a very honest, good value, no frills stove, with solid construction. I would buy another.
