Review of Angus Super 40

Orlan Super 40

Richard Barber 9 years ago

Am in 3rd winter and have 2000 litre storage. another 1000 will be better as our winter temps. dip to minus 30 C Wood consumption is a little higher than expected. At least three full loads of wood are needed to fully heat the tanks. A load of good dry ash, elm or maple lasts about 4 hours. The refractory nozzle is now worn and chimney temperature runs about 500 - 600 F . Finding the right air flow is hit and miss. I am currently running fan at 75% with intake open about 25%. A good chimney fan is needed to prevent smoke escaping when re-loading.
