Review of Aarrow Ecoburn Plus 7 Inset stove

So poor

Derek Kenrick 6 years ago

Bought this for its big viewing glass. What a let down this stove was. It can take large amounts of fuel which should be a positive but for the amount it can take the output is so poor. I have had this stove lit for four hours and it brings the room temp up one degree. I have had the installer back who as expected said there is nothing wrong with the stove. We have extended the chimney and put on a cowl but it is still poor. This is a radiant stove so you will only get heat in front of it. It is not a convector.also the handle on this gets red-hot and the ashpan is tiny. I have since taken it out and replaced with a stovax stockton 7.

Stove expert replied: This stove can produce up to 9kW of heat so should heat a small / medium room well. It will only produce a good heat if the conditions provided are correct though: Flue draw as per the manufacturers guidelines. Fuel to be dry and seasoned with a moisture content of less than 20% It has been installed correctly There is enough free air to allow combustion (either an air brick or room ventilator is required for this size stove) It is operated correctly
