Great STOVE.

This is our 1st stove and this little beast throws out ample heat. If you mix coal and logs then it burns overnight and the room is lovely and warm in the morning. This now heats 3 large rooms and a hallway in our house with the doors open. It takes a bit of getting used to but I am more than pleased with my new stove. This also looks great as a piece of furniture and focal point in our living room.

Stove Expert Replied: Amazing review as this seems to be heating the whole house!!

another great product

Just taken delivery of an intrepid 2 multifuel stove in matt black, this is to replace our original which we have had and used almost daily for the last 25 years (no central heating here) Fantastic quality fire and one which is designed with a top opener by far the best and easiest way to load. The design has attracted nothing but endless pleasant comments over the years, even now our old one has plenty of life left it but found this new one at a price we couldn't leave on the internet (£879 from fireplacemegastore)

Stove Expert Replied: Good feedback for new stove compared to old tried and tested model.

Intrepid

We have four of these woodburning stoves in different properties. They last for years; our oldest is 24years old and still going strong. Both basic cast iron and enamelled finish are easy to look after. Our mutlfuel stove does work well overnight as long as the fire is completely shut down and allowed to smoulder. Amazing amount of heat for a small amount of fuel when chimney is closed. Last winter we had no central heating until Christmas eve 2010 whilst new boiler was installed and this little darling threw out the heat with abandon. Only stove we could find with top loader. Much higher quality spec than others we have experienced- every home should have one.

Stove Expert Replied: Can't be bad providing adequate heat during such a cold winter with no central heating.

Intrepid

Excellent stove. Well Built. Went with an enamel finish, need to be careful not to catch it with metal items, can chip. Had the stove for 7yrs. Used on a regular basis in the winter months. Not had to replace any parts yet accept for the rope seals. Top loader makes it easy to fill and reduces ash coming into the room. Not designed to operate overnight. Must use well seasoned timber, hardwood preferably to get the best heat out of it. Need to have a thermostat so you can work the stove at its optimum efficincy. Would have one again. Heats the lower part of the house, we have a decent sized living room, old property no cavity wall insulation, not a problem for it even at the coldest times. We do have cental heating as well.

Intrepid 2

Have been using multifuel stoves for over 30 years in our non centrally heated farmhouse.
Our Intrepid has now finished it's 3rd winter. Love it. Very economical with fuel compared to our other 2 stoves and, because it's top loading, so easy to refuel - which is a big plus. Ours isn't the enamelled version.
