The Hwam Ravel stove is a contemporary wood burning stove made in Denmark.

This Hwam stove is ok to use in a smoke control area.

As the output is les than 5kw you do not need a direct air supply for this model -

but there is a direct air supply kit available for all the Hwam models.

If you use the back outlet flue on the Hwam stoves you would need to have a top closing plate & a rear flue extension kit.

This curved stove has one door with a curved glass panel.

There is a multi fuel kit available for the Hwam Ravel model.

Hwam Ravel

We have had this stove for 4 years. No problems at all, lights easy, burns well. Open door put in logs, repeat when burned to ash. The automatic is great. Its on virtually every night, I wonder if the other reviewers use less and hence have problems. It would burn all night if you load with hardwood. Firebox to small to do this with softwood.

Stove Expert Replied: Good sensible advice for other stove users. Thanks.

hwam ravel stove

Having had this stove for 2.5 years I am fairly happy with it. Being made of steel it has rusted inside quite badly and the automatic air sensor rusts also, I am on the third one now, also if this stops working its not automatic anymore!, and you can only tell if you notice that the fire is not burning correctly, not cheap to replace, I was told they should last at least 5 years!!

Stove expert says: it sounds like this stove might be in a damp environment. The air sensor is on the outside of the stove as far as I remember on this model. To keep a stove drier during the months it is not lit open the ash pan door a bit to let air flow through. Also make sure that there is a rain cap of some sort to prevent rain entry into the chimney.

hwam ravel

As as stove to go into a contemporary home this is beautiful and a piece of sculpture. We are in a city so the airwash system is important for complete fuel burning. We burn 2 year old seasoned wood kept dry with air circulation. The wood burns well but the novice burner must be patient as the controls are a little stiff and tricky to operate. When burning at the correct level the glass door remains clear but if it has to be cleaned then I have found that only wire wool will do the trick. I was concerned that there would be too much heat for a well insulated house but it is just right. Fuel raffle.

great stove

these are great stoves and burn extremely efficiently, although the firebox is small because of the angled back brick/baffle plate it doesnt matter because it burns the wood so efficiently the wood lasts a long time and gives of great heat.
