Review of Hwam Ravel stove

hwam ravel stove

Having had this stove for 2.5 years I am fairly happy with it. Being made of steel it has rusted inside quite badly and the automatic air sensor rusts also, I am on the third one now, also if this stops working its not automatic anymore!, and you can only tell if you notice that the fire is not burning correctly, not cheap to replace, I was told they should last at least 5 years!!

Stove expert replied: it sounds like this stove might be in a damp environment. The air sensor is on the outside of the stove as far as I remember on this model. To keep a stove drier during the months it is not lit open the ash pan door a bit to let air flow through. Also make sure that there is a rain cap of some sort to prevent rain entry into the chimney.
