Review of Hunter Herald 8 stove

Alright

Charles 14 years ago

We have been living with one of these since Nov 2003. It only stays in with coal, and then only sometimes. It runs two double rads only. We have had some very cold nights with this stove. The hinge pins ride up, the baffle plate comes down (putting it back in while the fire is going is a nightmare (which happens one or twice a year)), the riddle is heavy and the sideplates often make the withdrawal and replacement of the ashpan difficult to achieve. And we run this for 7 months of the year. Would not recommend.

Stove expert replied: This sounds like a MK1 Pre CE Hunter and they have since updated their baffle plate design.
