Review of Firefox 5 stove

Firefox 5 multi-fule stove

We bought this stove for the living room of a victorian cottage, to which its simple design is very well suited. We knew we were buying at the lower end of price range for 5kw stoves and considered other more expensive models, but the Firefox does everything that could be asked of it. It lights up easily and there is good control of air through the stove, once all the screws and bolts, including those on the air controls, have been fully tightened down. Due to its size, overnight burning is best achieved with anthracite, not wood, as the firebox isn't big enough to load up for such a long burn with wood. I have used a Jotul and a Morso stove in the past, and in all honesty, I'm not sure they were that much better. The Firefox is certainly very good value for money. The airwash isn't the best, but with a proper stove glass cleaner it can be spruced up very quickly.
