Review of Firefox 5 stove

leaking smoke

Helen Buffham 8 years ago

I have had the firefox 2 weeks now and when I light it or bank it down for the night it leaks smoke from underneath the lip at the front of the burner, the guy who fitted it has been down and had a look, and did tighten a bolt that was loose. but it's still doing it what should I do?

Stove expert replied: The flue gases are staying too long in the fire box due to not enough lift to remove them, leave the airwash open more and check that there is enough free air in the room to allow combustion to occur efficiently. The flue draw appears to be poor and an air brick may be required, making the flue height taller may also help. The installer can do a flue draw test to check that there is sufficient draw to match the stoves requirements.
