Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

Loving our Charnwood Country 4.

To anyone thinking about buying this stove, rest assured you can do so with confidence. We had ours installed in the 1st week in January, whilst the "Big Freeze" was going on, and have been well pleased. We had been researching for a long time before making any purchase, especially as we didn't have a chimney, and had to have an external flue built to accomodate the fire. Our previous multi fuel burner was on a narrowboat, and was really too big, and was actually too hot at times for the boat, so we didn't want to make the same mistake again when making this purchase.\n\nWe opted for the multi fuel Charnwood 4. We have found it very easy to control, even overnight, which to date has not been a problem. \nThe airwash system, we have found to be superb, and the glass is nearly always clean as long as you don't burn damp unseasoned wood.\nOne other really good feature is the wooden handle to the door, as this doesn't get hot at all making reloading simple and easy.\nThe firebox is also well designed, especially having a really large glass window on the door, as it really shows off what a real fire is all about.\n\nIt comes with an option of a little shelf that clips on to the front, but our installer showed it too us, and we didn't think it was worth while going for, especially, as we had one on our last fire and all it did was make it always look dusty with residue of ash.\n\nSo if you are thinking about one of these fires, then I would certainly recommend them to anyone, as extremely efficient, good looking and value for money.\n\nBill Shearer, (Stoke Golding)
