Review of Charnwood Country 4 stove

We love our Charnwood Country 4

Wood only version, Installed Dec 2009 - delighted with our choice. Airwash works well if you use properly seasoned wood. We had to use some damp wood and it did blacken a bit. However, as the C4 has a good sized firebox this is easily removed by having a really hot fire, (get a good charcoal base going, then max the load with smaller pieces of wood and open the bottom vent until it is really hot). Not sure if you are meant to do this but we have suffered no ill effects (a testament to build quality) and it cleans the glass.\n\nControls are good you can get that lovely slo-mo flame effect by balancing the flue and the fire box is big for suca small stove.\n\nOnly get a 4 for build quality as it is not lined like some stoves but these tend to be £1000 more.\n\nThe design would fit either a traditional or a modern home which is useful if you sell because you buyer may not have your tastes. I inherited a horror when I bought my home!!\n\n\n\nYou cannot go wrong with this stove. \n\n\n
