Review of Charnwood C 5 stove

Disappointed so far

Ivan MERRITT 10 years ago

Must admit disappointed so far with the performance, I struggle to get the stove really roaring, even with combination of door slightly open/control knob full out.Cannot understand why, it replaced a 25 year old Yeoman Devonshire which if you wanted to get a blaze going all you had to do was open the 2 door slides and away it roared. It is fitted exactly the same as the Yeoman was and I am burning the same wood. Any ideas anyone?

Stove expert replied: Has the chimney been lined? Is there enough free air in the room? Different models allow varying amounts of air through the vents, insuring enough free air in the room is very important.

I have the same issue with the C5, air control does not seem to work, we have just had this fitted and also dissappointed so far, we had a C8 at the same time and that is great with a very controlable air vale system
