Review of Saltburn stove

Dan Edge 2 years ago

We''ve had our Saltburn for just under a year now and I''m very pleased with it overall.

The contemporary design suits our more modern house, and the large glass area gives a great view of the fire, particularly as it remains largely soot free thanks to an effective air wash system.

Controllability is outstanding. Lighting a large log from glowing embers is easy and adjusting for an efficient clean burn no problem.

As for negatives, it''s a bit pricey, the handle gets hot and the ash tray seems unnecessarily shallow requiring emptying after one or two long burns.

Stove expert replied: Ash pans should be emptied often to maintain an airflow through the grate as allowing it to build up can shorten a grates life, hot ash should not stay in the pan after riddling but should be removed.
