Review of Westfire 23 stove

Westfire 23 ... Great Stove

Alan 13 years ago

We looked at various stoves before choosing the Westfire 23. We have an Edwardian house and wanted something modern but which would not clash with other features of the house. We wanted a fire mainly as a focal point and not a primary heat source.

The clean lines of the 23 (we have to 100mm cylindrical legs) look fantastic. The window is a great size and does not obscure the view of the fire even from an angle. The fire is easy to light and easy to clean, but the instructions are not particularly clear, but a little experimenting will sort that.

The heat output is great, we used it to take the chill off the house prior to switching the heating on. We have had it installed with the direct air supply which means you don't need an air vent.

Summary: A fantastic looking stove with a great view of the fire.

Stove expert replied: on Westfire stoves a good trick to lighting them is to crack the ashpan door a little open when you first light them.
