Review of Westfire 23 insert stove

Westfire 23 Inset

Simon O 10 years ago

We have just recently had this modern inset fire installed and on the whole are extremely pleased, we have had some teething problems which we are monitoring with the top baffle heat brick somehow becoming loose(twice up to now) and in the first instance falling into the woodburning chamber, chipping the baffle brick I did contact the uk distributor via email to ask if the brick was suppose to be located the way it is i.e held in position by gravity and two locating pins which they confirmed was correct, I did hope they would of sent a replacement top baffle brick to replace the chipped one(bearing in mind the purchase price for the stove alone) but this wasn't forthcoming.

After a little time of experimentation and trial and error I do believe we are starting to get the best from the stove, the heat output can be tremendous and regulation of the flames is now becoming easier with use and knowledge of the controls, we have found it very easy to light and once lit very easy to run, at the moment we are burning heat logs which we are very impressed with, giving of a very impressive flame and quite a long heat burn output from one log.

On the whole the stove impresses both with the modern clean line looks and heat output and makes for a great focal point within the room.
