Berkley boiler stove Hot

We have had our villager Berkley integral boiler multifuel stove for this winter. Installed mid September. It is the only heating in an old detached 2 bed bungalow. It heats a large living room 6.2m by 5.7m. Stove fitted here. (New modern extension no rad needed). Kitchen/breakfast room 7.2m by 4.0m. Hall 5.6m by 1.6m. Bathroom and 2 double bedrooms. We have 5 radiators 4 of them doubles and one towel rail and it heats the domestic hot water also.
It's been a very cold winter and have had it lit a lot. The bungalow was lovely and warm even at -12 outside. We will have burnt 50 x 40kg bags of housecoal. About 750 euros worth. Lit from mid September to mid April. It's very easy to light and use and heats the rads surprisingly well for the size of stove. We burnt a bit of wood and it burns very well with the grate out and gets the rads just as hot. As taking the grate out exposes more of the wraparound boiler (Fire lower down) and it holds 3 good sized logs well. Burning wood keeps the glass cleaner than the coal. My review of 3 for glass is based on coal. It would be around 4 burning wood. We don't burn wood anymore as it's very expensive here in Ireland. We have only tried to keep it in overnight once and it didn't work. We tried it with wood. This is where the stove would benefit from the optional flue damper. We had an A range villager with the damper and it stayed in overnight a treat. It is very easy to light and think why burn overnight as it gets going quickly and uses less fuel and keeps the chimney cleaner. We have had 3 villagers and have been delighted with them. They work well, reliable and very reasonably priced. Our Berkeley was £740.00 It takes 1 hour to heat the rads from cold with a blazing fire. It heats the hot water first and then the pump comes on at 45 degrees to heat the rads.
I would buy another villager in a heartbeat but I would buy the optional flue damper for total overnight burning control.

Stove Expert Replied: Household coal is not recommended for use with a stove as it is dirty and burns with a longer flame than smokeless fuels. This in turn exposes the internal components to higher than normal temperatures and will invalidate the warranty. Otherwise stove producing good heat to satisfy customers demands.
