Review of Villager Esprit 8 Solo stove

NOT a multi fuel

Steve Laing 8 years ago

bought on may 2015

worked as it should with sticks / logs

put on coal and 2 of the fire bricks split

be weary what you burn

ash pan is somewhat ill fitting, could do with a bigger one, as you have to shovel up excess

Stove expert replied: The Esprit 8 is a multifuel stove and will not cause the liners to split, split liners can still be used providing they are protecting the stove metal by staying in place and do not require urgent replacement. The ash pan is the largest that can be used in a stove of this size as the opening needs to take into consideration the integrity of the body and any larger may compromise this. Stove Vacs are available to hoover up any spilt ash or just use a fireside shovel.
