Review of Vesta V12 Double Sided Woodburning Stove

Nice looking, not so responsove

We ordered a Custom made V12 Double Sided wood Stove in October. We opted for a slightly deeper version to fit a specific opening on a development we were doing.

The Stove is very pleasing on the eye, with large glass panels and a very modern look. However the air controls are not particularly responsive if you want to run at a lower burn and the glass clouds up at the end of each burn. This is despite using kiln dried Ash logs, and ensuring a good running temperature. With all the air vents closed, it does not kill the fire, which would suggest it''s not perfectly sealed.

Disappointingly, one of the glass panels cracked after about two weeks use, and at £75 a pop, it''s an expensive replacement.

The handles are basic and feel cheap, but do the trick and are adjustable if the door begins to lose its seal.

The only really disappointing thing was the customer service from Vesta. Hardly any communication unless they were chased, and had to push for a clear delivery date. Their installation service was equally poor, and despite an enthusiastic first conversation, failed to follow up on arranging an installation date. So we used a local Hetas engineer instead.
