Review of Vermont Castings Resolute Acclaim 2490 woodburning stove

A warm heart

Jonathan Cleaver 9 years ago

After a great deal of research, I chose the Vermont Resolute Acclaim stove in enamelled black to be the centrepiece of our home. It sits in the downstairs lobby and warms the lobby, staircase, landing and all six bedrooms that lead off the landing. This stove is, with careful setting, capable of heating a large home on a cold winter's night, yet a single load of wood will last overnight on a slow burn.

The air wash works really well and keeps the glass clean and the stove is easy to control, with the flame and heat levels responding readily to adjustments to the damper lever. Our fitters paid close attention to ensuring that the chimney was suitably 'tuned' so the stove always burns controllably - we live on top of a hill and the wind can be very strong.

The build quality is excellent and everyone who visits comments on how beautiful this stove is. If I need another stove, it will be a Vermont.
