This cold winter we finally decided to replace the open fire in our cottage with a wood burner. After reading many reviews and online advice, we decided on the Little Thurlow.

For a relatively small unit, it has one of the biggest firebox's in it's class, and the big door and glass provide excellent access, as well as superb visibility and heat transfer. The controls allow you to set the burn anywhere from very slow (have had it still glowing next morning) through to 'blast furnace'. Very easy to light, and get fired up. Easy to clean, Easy to look at, multi-fuel, well designed and very well built. The airlow and turbo burn maximise burn and glass clearing.

I've always thought the the best products are an even balance of great form and optimum function - and this machine fits that bill. We've had it going pretty well non-stop for 2 months now, and are very, very happy with it. If you're looking for a small unit with big performance, this is the one.

Thanks to Town and Country, and thanks to the 'Whatstove' website for all the advice that helped our decision to purchase.

Had the Little Cracker for about 6 weeks now and very pleased with it. Easy to use controls once i explained to my wife what does what etc. It has been on just about permanently since then! I experimented with fuels and found briquettes work best. At night i just put a few fresh 'coals' on and shut the vents off completely. In the morning it looks dead, but open the vents, go and have a cup of tea and its back! Haven't tried this with log.

I do have to clean the glass every day(easy clean) but possibly this is because i don't race the fire.

I've recently joined the 'Little Thurlow' fanclub!
Having read all the glowing reviews on this website it was an easy choice.
I am a stove novice, but this stove is so easy to use. Quick to light, loads of room in the firebox, the airwash works really well, and its very responsive to the air controls. I have managed to keep it going (just about) overnight.
It looks great, I'm really pleased with it!

Made in Yorkshire out of British Steel, Town and Country once supplied Clearviews in the north of the UK, until Clearview did the dirty on them. The result of this fall-out was that Town and Country began making their own stoves, based on the Clearviews that they were previously selling.
The result is magnificent. A stove which burns as well and operates as well as a Clearview but, in my opinion, is more attractive to look at and more reasonably priced.
I used to be a Clearview snob, but since discovering this stove, my eyes have been opened.
