The Stovax Stockton 6 Highline stove has the same output as the Stovax Stockton 6 - but stands a lot taller.

This gives the stove a Scandinavian feel to it - a log store under the stove & a small shelf for keeping a pot warm makes it easy to recognize.

The Highline 6 stove has 1 plain door with a curved glass on the top edge.

The oven tile is available in 8 different colours.

Stovax Stockton Highline 6 stove

We considered this stove and the Clearview equivalent which was much more expensive. The build of this stove is as good as the Clearview. It is solid and a good looking addition to the living room.

One question we were unable to get any real indcation about was whether the warming shelf, which looks like an open oven, could be used to cook with. Well, it can be said that it does work as a reasonably good slow cooker. We bought a Le Chaseur small, oval ceramic caserole dish. This was used to cook a steak and kidney caserole with. There was enough food for two, and it took about 4 hours to cook through. The caserole was delicious. Some baking potatoes were tried. We used very large potatoes wrapped in foil. They were perfect, but did take six hours to cook through. It would take a lot less with smaller potatoes. Overall, we are very pleased with the cooking potential of the warming shelf. The only warning is cover the tiles with foil first if you are using a small caserole. Our first attempt resulted in liquid boiling over, and the smell was not good for the rest of the day until we had the opportunity to let it cool down and clean it. For information a Le Creuset 23cm oval caserole dish fits into the oven snuggly.

The airwash system is ok, but is only fully effective when the fire is blazing away. As soon as it is put into slumber it blacks up. However, a very good tip from a friend sorts this out. When the fire is cool get two pieces of kitchen role. Wet one with water. Dip this into the cold ash in the ash pan the rub the window with it to remove the tar/creosote on the window. It is suprising how badly blacked glass can be cleaned. Then, use the other piece of kitchen roll to remove the dirt. Result, clean glass.

Overall, we are very please with this stove and would recommend it to anyone. It is so much more of a feature than a small 6KW stove without the log store or warming shelf. This is especially so if, like us, you do not have a fire place feature to enhance the stove.

Stove Expert Replied: Is the wood that is being burnt less than 20% moisture content? Another glass cleaner is a damp cloth dipped in vinegar but the wood ash works really well. Good review.

This is a great stove, easy to use, pumps out loads of heat, easy to clean out, is aesthetically pleasing in every way. Can't fault it and we wouldn't be without it.

Stockton HiLine

Great stove, looks the part in our garden room. But fire box small if you leave the standard multifuel grate in. We took ours out to convert it to woodburner only - very simple, just blank the riddling lever hole off with a bolt. Gives much better size fire box. We find the air controls are very sensitive and there is a fine line between roaring away and smouldering, in which case the airwash doesn't work. But that could be due to our flue system not being quite right. But generally - really pleased.

Stove expert says: A flue baffle might help to regulate the chimney draft here as it sounds like the draw is very strong on this chimney.
