Review of Stovax Stockton 7 Inset Convector stove

Stockton 7 poor convection

Steve 11 years ago

Recently installed stockton 7inset.

Easy to install using fixing plate and back filled with vermiculite mix from inside stove.

Looks good.

Performance wise it's a bit disappointing . Can be a bit slow to get going. Once fire is established its very hot in firebox! Problem is not enough heat transfers into room when using air wash.

The convection outlet is immediately above air wash inlet. Warm air convected out seems to be sucked into air wash rather than warming room.

To warm room I have to close air wash and rely on primary air but this is not best way to burn wood?

Is this a known issue with insets or am I missing some knowledge?

Cheers

Steve
