Review of Scanline 6 stove

As mentioned very easy to control especially for a newbie. The styling fits our suburban 30's semi perfectly. Like all stoves it is at its most efficient at maximum air flow/heat. Keep a good bed of embers in the bottom for prolonged burning. Wonderful flame pattern at low air flow.

Check window and door fittings after a couple of weeks, they do work loose.

Tips for beginners.

First purchase is a good wood supply and store.

Get a good qualified installer.

All stoves need controlling, cleaning and maintenance. It will become a hobby.

They need time to heat up, allow an hour before you need the heat.

Do not over spec. They work best at maximum heat so if your room needs 4kw get a 4kw stove.

Stove expert replied: Stoves do need to work to maintain a clear flue but a slightly oversized appliance (for exceptionally cold conditions, say 2kW's larger than required) would be fine providing the fuel used is dry and well seasoned and short periods of fast burn are undetaken daily.
