Review of Parkray Consort 5
Not as Expected
We booked an installation via a Hetas qualified engineer and he recommended the Parkray Consort 5. What a disappointment this stove is. The black finish on the handle started to come off within less than a fortnight of installation and there was a scratch on the glass. We got a new door ordered via the installer and this was fitted 3 days ago but alas already the black is coming off the handle and the handle keeps loosening off. Not a lot of heat from the stove unless door is open which of course isn''t the idea!!!!! Would never buy one again.
Stove expert replied: If you are having to operate the stove with the door open then it implies that the flue draw is poor and an air brick / room ventilator may be required. This is an installation problem and not the stove. Was this stove correctly sized for the space that you are heating? What type of fuel are you burning as this will affect the output greatly. Suggest further investigation to see if improvements can be achieved. Regarding the handle loosening continuously, if this is a problem do follow this up under the manufacturers warranty.
