Review of Morso Panther stove

Morso 2130 Cleanheat Panther

Fred Laugharne 15 years ago

I've had this stove for about 20 years and overall it's been excellent. However in the last year I have had to replace the riddling grate - which is probably to be expected, and also remove the back boiler, which was a bit disconcerting.

My boiler was made of steel, and started leaking because one of the threaded connections to the external copper pipework was very badly corroded. On removal I also found the boiler to be almost completely blocked with rusty sludge - it's a wonder it worked at all. Therefore I would not recommend Morso's steel back boiler - better to get one made from stainless steel.
