Morso 6140 stove

Generally a pretty good stove. It's small and can only take small logs. You have to load in more logs than recommended but once they get going it belts out a load of heat. Unless you use a firelighter to start it, it will either fail to light or will fill the room with smoke. However I think that is our cold external flue rather than the stove. Airwash good unless the air supply is turned down - but that is probably fairly normal. Looks great and whilst not cheap is reasonably priced. Only real gripe is that the ash disposal fills really quickly so needs emptying frequently - which we don't do but then there is a lot of ash all over the hearth when we load it - which is a bit messy. Could have been easily designed with a larger ash tray but I suspect that we pile more logs into it and burn it harder than it was really designed for. Also I think that we have got it so hot that the door has very slightly distorted. However this is hardly noticable and does not seem to affect performance. I would definately buy another - though I have never used a quality stove before so I have no point of reference with which to compare it. It's too small to leave overnight - even on low the logs burn out in a few hours.

Stove expert replied: Definitely sounds like this stove is a little undersized for the job.
