Review of Little Wenlock stove

Cleaning a little wenlock

KathyTownsend 9 years ago

I have a new Little Wenlock, have had it 18 months and had it professionally installed. I had another older Little Wenlock before this one and it was a much better built stove. The new one is fine for burning and for heat output and burns well overnight (I use anthracite) but its a pig to keep clean. With the old one I could just take the fire bricks out and then the top plate so that I could clean it. With this new one I have no idea how to remove the fire bricks and the "manual" doesn't give any information on this whatsoever. I have access to the top stove pipe via a round plate which can be unscrewed for chimney sweeping but you can't clean the top plate as you cant see it. I have had the flue block up due to deposits lying on the top plate. I bought it because it was a reasonable price but it's not as easy to keep clean as the old Coalbrookdale one.
