Review of Hunter Hawk stove

Great little stove

Chris Sedgbeer 10 years ago

Our main 24/7 stove is a Morso Squirrel in the main room of our home. We bought the Hunter Hawk 4 about four seasons ago for our sitting room that is mostly used evenings and weekends. I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews this little stove is getting. We have found it brilliant for our purpose. It has a larger than average window in the door giving a good view of the fire inside. The air wash is excellent, better I think than the Morso. It will take good size logs and once going will burn one or two logs during an evening. We removed the multifuel grate which is important if burning only wood. This then gives an extra kW of output. We love this little stove, it's a doddle to light, chucks out plenty of heat, glass stays clean and you can see the fire! As with any wood burning stove there are only three important points to bear in mind 1) seasoned wood. 2) seasoned wood. 3) seasoned wood. No I don't have any connections with Hunter, I just want this stove to get the reviews it deserves!
