Review of Franco belge Savoy Elegance - MKII

Franco Belge Savoy Elegance MK11 burning far to hot

Paul Thornton 8 years ago

I had this installed in Ivory and it looks great, lights very easily and has a fantastic look to it, the problem I have is it burns far too hot and it has warped the ash pan, this makes it a little difficult to empty, when I opened the door to load some more logs the door actually fell off the two pins that hold the door in place as they had sheared, which I believe was due to the excessive heat, the paint has also come off the handle again due to the heat and when I went to replace the handle I noticed the pressure adjustment screw is also seized. I bought this stove in Oct 2013 and am very disappointed with the problems I am having. As soon as I have lit the stove I close both air controls to the closed position but it still burns very fierce and if we leave it for more than a couple of hours it burns itself out, which seems rather pointless. Please can anyone offer any advice because I am at a loss at what to do.
