smoke on lighting and refuelling a 2011 version of this stove

Tim Collar 9 years ago

This stove billows smoke whenever it is lit or refuelled . The vermiculite top baffle plate falls forward leaving only a very thin gap for the chimney to draw through. Pushing it back solves the problem as there is plenty of draught on the chimney. control B is supposed to be a damper control but it does not seem to alter the position of the baffle plate . It's a brilliant stove when lit and running but the smoke problem has always been there and I'm finally trying to sort it out. Any helpful suggestions welcome.

Stove expert replied: The stove baffle should be fixed in place so these comments are not based on a true working stove as per the manufacturers instructions. It should be bolted securely so it can't move. The installer should be contacted to rectify this as it forms part of the commissioning process. If you are still struggling the dealer should be able to provide further assistance.
