Review of Franco Belge Montfort stove

flue cleaning problems

Nancy Griffiths 10 years ago

I have had a Montfort Mk2 since 2010. Chimney sweeps have had 2 attempts at removing the baffles so that the flue can be cleaned. The stove supplier came and removed bolts which they thought would enable removal of the baffle without success. They now no longer supply this stove as they have had so many problems. I am now going to have to try to speak to the agent or manufacturer, as currently there is no way of getting into the flue to clean it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how have you resolved it? Winter is fast approaching and I spent a lot of money on this.

Stove expert replied: It is recommended that an alternative access is put in the flue section of the stove for sweeping purposes even if the baffle is removable, it is good practise to do this.
