Review of Fireline FP5 stove

window glass on fire

John Brown 8 years ago

not very pleased had the fire for six months the glass has started frosting and having to clean the glass everyday

Stove expert replied: If the glass has a spiders web effect creeping across it this is normally due to a chemical reaction taking place where the stove is not being used at a fast enough rate of burn to remove the flue gases from the firebox quickly enough. If the marks are cloudy in appearance then it is due to the stove being over fired for prolonged periods. In both cases the integrity of the glass has not been compromised but the effects are not reversible.
