WE HAVE HAD THIS STOVE JUST OVER ONE YEAR NOW AND BEEN OUR FIRST STOVE NOTHING ELSE TO COMPARE IT TOO. THE ONLY THING THAT WE HAVE NOTICED IS THE FRONT GLASS IS IMPREGNATED SO CAN HARDLT SEE THROUGH IT NOW APART FROM WHEN THE STOVE IS AT ITS WORKING CONDITION (WE BURN SMOKELSS EXCEL) ...WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS OUT THERE?..EVEN HAD THE SWEEP THE OTHER DAY AND HE SAID THE INNER SIDE OF THE GLASS IS SO SMOOTH SO TELLS HIM ITS BEEN CLEANED REGUALLY ...ANYWAY APART FROM THAT A GREAT STOVE FOR SURE...BUT WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS IF THIS GLASS WASN'T A PROBLEM...

Stove expert replied: Glass can become discoloured if the stove is not working hard enough, (if the stove is slumbering for most of the time). A chemical reaction can occur as the flue gases stay in the fire box for long periods and then attacks the glass. The strength of the glass is not affected by this. The stove should have short periods of fast burn at least once during an evening use and twice if the stove is used all day.
