Review of Firefox 5 Cleanburn stove

secondary burn

James Alexander 10 years ago

We've just had this installed and are very happy indeed with the ease of lighting and quality of heating. However, the secondary burn lever has no latitude at all, barely 1/2cm. It's fixed over at the right. I understand the need for keeping it open a little due to multifuel regs, but we virtually have no control at all at the moment. Should I be bothered about this lack of play?

Also, the knob on the main air intake lever will tighten but not enough to fix the lever into place. Again, is this a problem? Many thanks

Stove expert replied: As it is a Defra Approved model the air control will have very little movement, the lack of control may be down to an over-drawing flue and this should be investigated further. Go back to the supplier about the knob and not being able to tighten it adequately.
