Review of Esse 700 stove

ESSE 700 Boiler Stove & H2 Panel into existing gas CH/HW system

Neil Poxon 11 years ago

Had the 700B boiler stove & connected to central heating & hot water system since Nov 2011. Phurnacite bricks are the best fuel to use, they allow the fire to remain in from 06.30 until 16.30 from one "fill" the stove produces enough heat to keep 17 rads warm, which in turn reduces the amount of gas used. We do use the gas boiler in severe cold conditions along side the stove, however the heat it produces throughout the day is even & constant. We always have a full cylinder of hot water when the stove is used. Our gas bill has been reduced by a whopping 66% however the cost of the phurnacite reduces this to around 25% overall. An expensive stove & connection into our gas central heating system via a H2 control panel (4/5K ) but the combined solid fuel / gas system is amazing.

Stove expert replied: Combining heat sources gives the best of both worlds and a good saving which can't be bad!
