Review of Esse 525 stove

Doesn''t live up to the expensive brand name

Gordon Weir 6 years ago

We bought this stove as an ex-display model from our local retailer. Unfortunately they didn't have the kit available to convert it to a true wood burner. However, It seems that Esse do not sell the kit retrospectively, and it is very difficult to find, despite extensive INTERNET searches. There is an obvious deign flaw with this stove. The door can't be opened wide enough to remove the dust pan without scuffing/fraying the door seal. The stove looks good and kicks out enough heat for our needs, but the issues mentioned above make it a bit of a disappointment for a supposedly top-end brand.
