Review of Esse 350 stove

The Esse 350gs inset boiler stove is a fantastic replacement for an open fire with a backboiler, with 3 different door types it is easy to change the look of the stove anytime, I don't know why these types of stoves are not advertised I had no idea they existed until recently, once I found out about them I trolled through the internet searching for the right one it came down to this one made in Lancashire or one made in Devon with the same specs, I'm so glad I chose the Esse it does everything it says it can do and more I think, we have 13 radiators in a dormer bungalow and a hot water cylinder and it manages to heat all of them, the old fireplace would go through a bucket of coal and 4 peat briquettes a night and keep the front room nice and warm, this stove with an extra 5 briquettes keeps the whole house warm, it has been a mild winter so far but no need for the oil, we use smokeless coal now and it keeps the glass clear, we used normal coal the first week and could not see the fire at all after 20 minutes the glass just went black, the only way to clear it was to open the air vents and fire it up, to costly for the long run so the second week changed to smokeless coal and it works a treat, up to now I am very pleased with this stove, with proper cleaning and emptying the ash every day fingers crossed I hope it is trouble free for the next 20 years as it does cost quite a bit, on the whole I would recommend this stove.
Stove expert replied: Never use household coal on a stove unless the manufacturer states it can be used, the airwash will not work if you do!!
